Why are replica watches not accepted? +
Replica watches fall under the category of counterfeit and pirated goods and infringe intellectual property rights. This is something EM Watch Service cannot and will not be part of.
Why are smartwatches not accepted? +
Smartwatches are often called “watches”, but the technology differs considerably from a quartz or mechanical watch. It has more in common with a smartphone than with a traditional movement.
Why are mechanical clocks not accepted? +
EM Watch Service specialises in small work (watches and pocket watches). Larger clockwork requires different experience and a different workshop.
How long does the repair process take? +
It depends on what needs to be done and the type of watch. Simple repairs can be ready within a few days. More complex repairs can take weeks, or sometimes months.
Can I drop by without an appointment? +
No. EM Watch Service works strictly by appointment, both for dropping off and collecting watches.
Can I wait for my watch? +
It is not possible to wait while the work is done, not even for small jobs such as a battery change. Smaller repairs are scheduled in between other work so the service stays affordable.
Can I send my watch by post? +
Yes, you can send your watch in, provided it has been registered beforehand. Sending it in is at your own risk; the return shipment is insured. Dropping off and collecting in person is always preferred.
Do I need to hand in my watch even if the parts are not yet in stock? +
Yes. Orders are only placed once the watch is in EM Watch Service’s care. That way it can first be checked that the correct part is ordered.
Why do I pay a €35 inspection fee? +
The €35 inspection fee covers part of the time spent on enquiries, appointments and inspection. It also serves as a threshold against non-serious requests. The fee is waived when you proceed with a service.
Are there warranties on the repairs? +
Yes. Depending on the work carried out, you can count on a warranty of 3 months to 1 year. See the pricing page for the full warranty terms.
How does payment work? +
As soon as the service is finished you receive the invoice by email. Payment within 7 days and before collection or return — online only, no cash payments.
Can I have my watch strap shortened? +
Shortening watch straps is not offered as a standalone service. Because EM Watch Service works strictly by appointment, this takes more time than you might expect: scheduling an appointment, receiving the customer, measuring, fitting and adjusting until the size is exactly right. Charging a separate price for that time would be out of proportion. That is why a strap is only shortened as part of a repair or service — at no extra charge, as a courtesy.
What is the best way to get in touch? +
The best ways are via WhatsApp, the contact form or email. Phone is not preferred, and voicemails are not returned.
