Edwin — a watchmaker driven by passion and precision

Welcome to my site, and thank you for taking the time to look around. As a watchmaker and watch technician in Houten and Utrecht, I would like to give you a glimpse into my craft.

I am Edwin, born in 1981. Around the age of 25 I became fascinated by watches and the mechanics behind them, a passion that has only grown ever since. That love for movements brought me into contact with an experienced watch technician, who later became my mentor. Under his guidance I learned much of the groundwork, and my interest only deepened.

Over the years that followed I worked intensively on refining my skills, completed a four-year industry-certified training as a watch technician for small movements, and built up extensive hands-on experience. In 2021 I decided to make my dream a reality and opened my own workshop, where craftsmanship and attention to detail come first.

What I can offer you as an officially certified watch technician is that I am open, honest and transparent. That means no surprises afterwards. Your watch is treated with passion and care, with no distinction by brand, age or value.

I have also worked with real enjoyment for the Dutch Ministry of Defence for 25 years, a large part of that as a military nurse and instructor at the DGOTC (the Defence Healthcare Training and Education Centre). This taught me to work with great precision and structure, which is far from unimportant when repairing watches.

For the past 7 years I have worked in the Learning & Development department of the DGOTC as a still-image specialist and administrator of an online learning platform.

A solid foundation for running my own business and for working with you as a customer.

Averaging 32 hours a week in the workshop and 32 hours with the Ministry of Defence, I am fully committed to both fields. Thank you for your interest; I hope I can be of service to you.

EM Watch Service is industry-certified, which means I was officially trained at the Vakschool in Schoonhoven. The work is carried out to professional standards, with an eye for quality and a love of the craft.

The Vakschool Schoonhoven is regarded as the leading training institute for watch technicians in the Netherlands. The industry-certified training for watch technicians in small movements covers both mechanical and quartz movements, and lays the foundation for professional and responsible work on watches of many different brands and types.
